A simple first conversation about your financial life.
We will talk through what is going on, what you want life to look like, and whether a Flames membership would actually help.
What makes Flames different
Advisor fees should be tied to advice, not the market.
Your fee can rise for reasons unrelated to new planning work.
When the fee is a percentage of investments, market growth or new contributions can increase what you pay.
Your fee is set around the planning work your household needs.
Flames uses a flat annual membership fee based on planning scope and household complexity.
Flat-fee by design
No automatic fee increase just because your portfolio grew from markets or new savings.
Fee-only fiduciary
No commissions or product sales. Advice is built around the household, not a transaction.
Planning beyond investments
Taxes, estate documents, retirement, cash flow, benefits, and investments are coordinated together.
Investments still matter
Portfolios can still be managed, but investment management is part of the relationship, not the whole relationship.

Common questions
The direct answers people usually want before booking.
These are the practical details around custodians, taxes, estate documents, investment management, and who does what behind the scenes.
Do you manage portfolios across multiple custodians?
Flames FP directly manages client assets at Altruist, the primary custodian, and Charles Schwab, the secondary custodian when appropriate. For accounts held outside Altruist or Schwab, Flames FP can provide planning guidance based on outside account balances and details, but cannot directly trade, rebalance, or manage those assets. When assets are eligible to transfer, Flames FP generally recommends moving them to Altruist or Schwab so the portfolio can be fully managed, coordinated, and monitored within the relationship with no added Flames FP membership fee.
Does the flat annual fee include tax return preparation and filing?
Flames Flagship and Flames Signature include tax return preparation and filing support, along with proactive tax planning throughout the year. Flames FP handles the planning work and coordinates tax return preparation with an outside tax partner so the return reflects the planning decisions made during the year.
Who signs my tax return?
A Flames FP tax partner, currently Fifteenth, prepares and signs the return as the paid tax preparer. Flames FP remains involved to coordinate strategy, answer planning questions, and help make sure the tax return reflects the planning decisions made throughout the year.
How many CPAs or Enrolled Agents are on staff?
There are currently no CPAs or Enrolled Agents on staff at Flames Financial Planning. Flames FP keeps year-round tax planning inside the advisory relationship and coordinates tax preparation through outside tax professionals for memberships that include filing support.
Are there attorneys on staff, and who drafts the trust and will?
There are currently no attorneys on staff at Flames Financial Planning. For eligible memberships, estate document creation is delivered through Wealth.com, an estate planning platform used to create professionally drafted documents such as a trust, will, financial power of attorney, and health care directive. Flames FP coordinates the planning discussion as part of the broader financial plan, while more complex legal situations may still require outside legal counsel.
What is included in investment management?
Altruist is the primary custodial platform, with Schwab available as a secondary custodian when appropriate. Portfolios may use Altruist's professionally designed models or custom-built portfolios depending on each client's goals. Every portfolio is managed according to the Flames investment philosophy: low-cost investing, global diversification, and tax efficiency.
Do clients still have access to their accounts?
Yes. Clients have access through Altruist's desktop and mobile platforms to view accounts, monitor performance, access documents, and withdraw available cash when needed.
Is Flames FP a good fit if I only want a one-time answer?
Flames FP is usually not the best fit for someone who only wants a single transactional answer. The membership is designed for households that want coordinated decision-making across investments, taxes, estate planning, retirement, cash flow, and major life changes.
